Types of fingerprint patterns

Edward Henry recognized that fingerprints could be described as having three basic patterns – arches, loops and whorls. These shapes and contours were later sub-divided into eight basic patterns and are used by the FBI till today. The professional analysis of fingerprint patterns are extremely complicated. Here listed ten simple essential patterns easily show the knowledge of fingerprints, for the reference only. If further analysis is needed, it is better to consult with a senior analysist for more professional comments to avoid any misunderstanding.
